Bend’s food scene has improved significantly alongside the city’s growth. The downtown corridor (Wall Street, Bond Street, and the adjacent blocks) has enough restaurant density for multi-day eating without repetition. The brewery-restaurant hybrid is Bend’s most characteristic dining format — most major breweries operate full kitchens, and the quality has risen with competition.

Best Restaurants

Zydeco Kitchen and Cocktails (919 NW Bond St; open for dinner Tuesday-Sunday) is the most consistently praised kitchen in Bend — Southern-influenced cooking (the name references Cajun/Zydeco Louisiana music) with an Oregon-sourced twist. Shrimp and grits with local Deschutes River prawns, gumbo, jambalaya, and smoked meats with farm-sourced vegetables. Mains approximately $22-$38 as of 2026. Reservations recommended for weekend evenings.

900 Wall (900 NW Wall St) — the most ambitious contemporary American option in downtown Bend; seasonal menu with a strong wine and cocktail program. The upstairs dining room is the formal setting; the ground floor bar is more casual. Mains approximately $24-$42.

Bos Taurus (1007 NW Galveston Ave) — a restaurant and wine bar focused on aged beef and natural wines; the Bend equivalent of a serious wine-country steakhouse. Mains approximately $28-$52.

Casual Dining

Spork (937 NW Newport Ave) offers globally inspired street food — Korean BBQ bowls, bánh mì, global street-food preparations executed with quality ingredients. One of the better value-for-money options in downtown. Mains approximately $14-$26.

Jackson’s Corner (845 NW Delaware Ave; and an east side location at 1500 NE Cushing Dr) — Neapolitan-style pizza, grain bowls, and seasonal salads in a neighborhood café setting. One of the most popular places for an unpretentious weekday dinner. Mains approximately $14-$20.

Flatbread Neapolitan Pizzeria (1044 NW Bond St) — wood-fired pizza adjacent to the Deschutes Brewery complex; convenient for visitors arriving for the brewery.

Breakfast and Brunch

Chow (1110 NW Newport Ave) — the most-recommended breakfast option in Bend; huevos rancheros, egg scrambles, and creative breakfast preparations. Lines on weekend mornings; expect a 20-40 minute wait. Mains approximately $12-$18.

McKay Cottage Restaurant (62750 NE Boyd Acres Rd) — on the east side of Bend; biscuits, pancakes, and a warm interior; popular with local families. Mains approximately $10-$16.

Sparrow Bakery (50 SE Scott St, and other locations) — the most significant bakery in Bend; the cardamom brioche “ocean roll” is the signature item. Primarily grab-and-go for pastries and coffee.

Breweries with Kitchens

Deschutes Brewery Public House (1044 NW Bond St) — the original 1988 location; burgers, sandwiches, and pub food alongside house beers. The most reliable casual-dinner option in downtown; the Black Butte Porter pairs well with the burger. Mains approximately $14-$24.

Crux Fermentation Project (50 SW Division St) — burgers and flatbreads on the rooftop with Cascade views; best visited in late afternoon when the mountains are lit. Mains approximately $12-$20.

10 Barrel Brewing (1135 NW Galveston Ave) — a large rooftop operation with a broad pub menu; more commercial than the independent options but useful for groups and families. Mains approximately $14-$22.

GoodLife Brewing (70 SW Century Dr) — a slightly quieter option in a converted warehouse; the Descender IPA is one of the most distributed Oregon beers. Kitchen serves pub basics.

Farmers Market

The Bend Farmers Market (NW Brooks St and NW Wall St) runs Wednesday 2-6pm and Saturday 9am-1pm from May through October — local produce, grass-fed beef, honey, and prepared foods. Central downtown location makes it a natural pre-lunch stop.

Practical Notes

Downtown Bend’s restaurant concentration is compact — most of the best options are within a 5-minute walk of each other on NW Bond Street and NW Newport Avenue. Peak busy periods are summer weekends and ski season weekends (December-March). Jackson’s Corner and Spork are the most reliable no-reservation options; Zydeco and 900 Wall benefit from advance booking on Friday and Saturday.
