Best Hotels in Boise
Boise’s accommodation market is compact — most of the notable properties are in the downtown core, within a few blocks of each other and the Basque Block. The city has not developed a resort hotel comparable to other mountain West destinations despite its outdoor recreation access; the full-service options are convention hotels and mid-size boutiques. Prices are consistently lower than comparable properties in Portland, Seattle, or Salt Lake City.
Full-Service Downtown
The Grove Hotel (245 S Capitol Blvd) is Boise’s primary full-service convention hotel — the most centrally located large hotel in the city, directly connected to the Taco Bell Arena (the primary entertainment and sports venue) and across the street from the Basque Block. The 250 rooms are standard business-hotel quality. The hotel’s central location is the primary differentiator.
Standard rooms from approximately $150–$220 per night as of 2026. Rates spike significantly during concerts and events at Taco Bell Arena and Boise State University home football games. Parking in the attached garage approximately $18 per day.
Riverside Hotel Boise (2900 W Chinden Blvd, in Garden City adjacent to Boise) is a full-service hotel on the Boise River, approximately 2 miles from downtown. The 304 rooms have river views from some floors; the property has a pool, restaurant, and event facilities. Standard rooms from approximately $130–$195 per night. A car or rideshare needed for downtown; walking distance to several Garden City breweries.
Boutique Downtown
Inn at 500 Capitol (500 S Capitol Blvd) is the most design-considered boutique hotel in downtown Boise, in a converted 1930s office building. The 112 rooms blend vintage architectural elements with contemporary furnishings. The lobby-level cocktail bar is one of the better hotel bars in the city. The Capitol building is one block north; the 8th Street restaurant corridor is two blocks east.
Rooms from approximately $160–$240 per night. Parking available in a public ramp adjacent to the hotel approximately $12–$15 per day.
Modern Hotel and Bar (1314 W Grove St) is a converted 1960s Travelodge with 39 rooms, completely redesigned as a design-forward boutique property. The ground-floor cocktail bar is consistently one of the most active in Boise on weekend evenings. The Mid-Century Modern aesthetic is sustained throughout; the rooms are compact but well-designed.
From approximately $130–$195 per night. Walking distance to the Basque Block (4 blocks) and downtown restaurants.
Leku Ona Hotel (117 S 6th St) is a 10-room hotel above the Basque Block restaurant — literally the most Basque accommodation option in the US outside the Basque Country itself. The rooms are simply furnished; the location is the differentiator. From approximately $90–$140 per night. Book through the Leku Ona restaurant directly.
Near the Airport
Boise Airport Marriott Courtyard (2453 Airport Way) and several adjacent chain properties serve travelers needing proximity to Boise Airport (BOI). Rates approximately $110–$160 per night; free airport shuttles. The airport is 3 miles from downtown — rideshare is approximately $10–$15.
Hampton Inn Boise Airport (2310 Airport Way) runs approximately $110–$155 per night with breakfast included.
Budget Options
Boise is a mid-size city without a hostel. Budget accommodation is limited to chain motels and a few guesthouse-style properties — there is no budget option comparable to downtown hostels in Portland or Salt Lake City.
Motel 6 Boise Airport (2727 S Cole Rd) is the most affordable reliable option in the metro: approximately $55–$80 per night as of 2026. Standard chain rooms; approximately 3 miles from downtown, requiring a car or rideshare.
Boise Guest House (614 N 5th St, near downtown) is a small guesthouse-style property with private rooms and shared common areas. From approximately $70–$95 per night as of 2026. Walking distance to downtown — the best budget location in the city.
Extended Stay America Boise West (350 S Eagle Rd, Meridian) offers studio apartments with kitchens from approximately $75–$100 per night as of 2026. A car is required; approximately 10 miles from downtown.
Extended Stay
Hyatt Place Boise Towne Square (7699 W Spectrum St, near the Boise Towne Square Mall, west side) is the largest Hyatt in the metro with standard extended-stay amenities. From approximately $95–$145 per night as of 2026. A car is required for all activities; approximately 8 miles from downtown.
Choosing a Location
Downtown core (The Grove, Inn at 500 Capitol, Modern Hotel): Walking distance to the Basque Block, Freak Alley, the Capitol building, 8th Street restaurants, and Julia Davis Park. Best overall access without a car.
Garden City riverfront (Riverside Hotel): Good for the Boise River Greenbelt, cycling access, and the brewery cluster; requires rideshare or bike to downtown.
Airport area: Strictly for early departures or late arrivals.
Booking Notes
- Boise State University home football games (blue turf, ESPN-televised, September–November) fill downtown hotels to capacity. The BSU schedule is available at broncosports.com — book 4–6 weeks ahead for game weekends
- Treefort Music Festival (5 days in late March) is Boise’s largest annual music event; downtown hotels fill and rates increase approximately 40–60%
- Ski season at Bogus Basin (December–March): Hotel prices remain stable relative to ski resort towns in Colorado or Utah — Boise does not see the same seasonal premium, partly because the ski area is primarily a day-use facility for locals rather than a destination resort
- Summer (June–August) has higher leisure travel demand; book 2–3 weeks ahead for summer weekend stays
